ACTIVITY 2 - Upcycling: 3R's Policy
OBJECTIVES
- Work on the 3R's Policy in a creative way;
- Encourage the reuse of materials in schools;
- Identify the importance of each R
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
This challenge is intended for Eco-Schools network schools of all levels of education, with two categories considered:
Category 1: Kindergartens and 1st-cycle schools
Category 2: Schools with 2nd and 3rd cycles
WORK DESCRIPTION
Construction of one of the "3R's," using the reuse of materials with creativity and originality, explaining the importance of the chosen "R."
REQUESTED INFORMATION FOR CONTEST
Participation in this contest is realized by uploading, on the Eco-Schools platform, the photographs of the work carried out and the requested information.
An upload of a set of four representative photographs of the work, accompanied by their respective captions, should be made. In addition to the photographs, the following information will be requested:
- Students Name and Age;
- Description of the materials used in the construction of the project;
- Information about the importance of the chosen "R";
- Descriptive Memory where information related to the construction process of the project should be included (materials used, methodology employed, and student involvement). This should also be linked to the circular economy, meaning an explanation of how the chosen "R" contributes to the circular economy.
DEADLINES
Registration until February 28; submission of works until May 31.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
The evaluation criteria for the works in the competition will be:
- Creativity and originality;
- Student involvement;
- Demonstration of the ability to reuse resources;
- Compliance with the rules of this regulation.
JURY
The jury will be composed of members from ABAAE, ERP Portugal, and DGEstE.
PRIZES
- School - gift check in the amount of €100
- Student - gift voucher worth €20 per student (up to a maximum of 30 students).
- Teacher - gift check in the amount of €25
